Title Wunpawng mung na hka nu masum a lam (Three sister rivers in Kachin State) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi Awng)
There are three rivers in Kachin. The elders said that they are siblings. The eldest sister's name is Mali Jan Kaw Gawng, the second sister's name is Nmai Jan Lu Yawng and the youngest sister's name is Hkrang Jan Roi Tawng. One day, their parents told them to get married. The two elder sisters were shy girls and didn't give any answers that they would get married or not. The youngest sister was flirtatious and said that she would get married. Then, the parents let her get married first. That's why when people called their names, they called the youngest sister's name first since she was a married woman. And she was a really fast flowing river. She made loud noises too. But that river was not very long. She flowed into her sister Kaw Gawng (river). The second sister (Nmai Jan Lu Yawng) got married to Nmai clan. She was calm and gentle. She was a steady flowing river. She was not as gentle as the eldest sister, but not as flirtatious as her younger sister. When she flowed, she made some noises too, but not as loud as her younger sister. That river was a little bit longer. She also flowed into the eldest sister's river in the area where was near Myitkyina. The eldest sister, Mali Jan Kaw Gawng, was the politest and gentlest one. Her two younger sisters flowed into her and became Ayeyarwady, the lifeblood of Myanmar. People praised her a lot. She flowed into the sea.
