Title Jak chywi sha ai la kasha tsaw ra myit (The old man who is good at sewing) with English translation
Description Translation (Gun Mai)
A long time ago, there was an old man who was very good at sewing. He was very arrogant because he thought that he was the best sewer in the world. The old sewer had a very beautiful daughter. He said that "There is no sewer as good as me in this country," and he was very arrogant. One day, people in the village wanted the girl a lot. Despite wanting, it was not to take care of the girl for the whole life and they wanted her only because of her beauty. The news about the beautiful girl was spread outside of the village, and a young man who was a good sewer and lived in another village heard about the girl. So, the young man said to himself that "Anyway, I want to see the old man who is very good at sewing and I also want to see his beautiful daughter. How should I do?" The young man was thinking how to do. The young man got an idea one day. So, he went to find very expensive and very valued cloth. He did not find it in his village. So, he went to find other places and after about one month, he saw an old man who sold clothes was passing and bought cloth. He bought a very beautiful cloth and made three shirts. After the young man finished the three shirts, he said to himself that "Very good now. As I planned, I will go and inquiry about the old man who is very good at sewing and his beautiful daughter," and he left and found the village. The village of the old sewer was very hot. As the time was very hot, the old man could not sew so he was just sitting on the chair and asked his daughter to fan with a hand fan. In front of their house, the young man was shouting that "Here are very beautiful shirts! Here are very beautiful shirts!" When the young man was shouting about the beautiful shirt, the old man said that "We are even very hot. It is noisy. Stop shouting" After the young man shouted three and four times, the old man asked his daughter that "Go and see who is shouting. What the beautiful shirt he is selling even in front of the house of the best sewer in the world. Go and look." The daughter went to see. The girl said to the young man that "Let me see your shirt. How much is it beautiful?" When the girl looked at it, the shirts were very beautiful. Because there were very beautiful shirts, the girl brought them to her father. When the father saw the shirts, he was also interested a lot so he said that "Go and call the man." When the young man came, the old man said to the young man that "I think that my sewing skill is the best in this country and this world but your skill seems better than mine. Do you want to work for me?" The young man also thought that if he worked for the old man, he would see his beautiful daughter every day so he said that "Yes, I can work for you." "OK, so start from tomorrow," the old man said. The young man started to work for the old man. The old man was also interested a lot in the young man and wanted the young man to be his son-in-law. So, he let the young man eat together and work together with his daughter for them to fall in love. After about six months, the king heard the news about the beautiful daughter of the old sewer. So, the king asked his people to investigate that "I heard that an old man, a very good sewer has a very beautiful daughter. Go and investigate whether the girl has a boyfriend or not." The king's people went to investigate and reported to the king that "The girl has no boyfriend. Then, the king went to the old man and asked to marry his daughter. Because it was the king, the old man and his daughter did not dare to deny and the girl had to follow the king. When the king was planning to do wedding, the king said that "Is there anyone who can make a very beautiful dress for the queen? I will give the person a present." Then, the young man heard about it and said that "I will sew the dress for the queen." So, the young man took the cloth. "If it is for the girl who I love very much, I will sew a very beautiful dress," the young man said and entered the sewing room. He looked at the cloth and cried. He closed the door and did not go out until he finished the dress. The people who were outside understood him. They thought that the young man was sorrowed so they did not open the door. The people were just listening to the sewing sound and in about two days before one month, the sewing sound was stopped. So, they thought that it was finished and when they opened the door, the young man was dead. The young man died after he made a very beautiful dress. The old man took the dress and he told the king and his daughter. The king was also regretted from that day and he said that "I am the king who rules everybody but I broke the love of the young man and girl. I am very regretted." Then, the king gave the girl his throne and he went to a forest for meditation. The king also left all his properties.
