Title Hkam sharang chye kanam (The persistent wife) with English translation
Description Translation (Tu Hkawng)
Once upon a time, there was a family, and it had a very abided and well-behaved daughter in law. At one time, a young man and lady who lived in a village fell in love, and then they married. However, the father in law and mother in law did not loth her. So, they mistreated her in many ways. Her husband worked as an office worker. As her husband was an office worker, they mistreated the daughter in law in many ways after her husband went to his job. Also, they had destroyed her works and maltreated her in many ways, even if she did the right things. "Despite the several times of maltreatments", they said, "She did not leave the house" as such, one day, they pushed her down from the house to the ground. While she was pushing down from the house, the husband saw the scenes accidentally. The husband saw while his wife was crying on the ground, he approached and asked her, "Why are you crying on the ground?", but she said, "It is nothing, and I just simply missed my mom, and I want to go back to my mom's home, and that is why I was crying before." After that, on another day, her husband went to his work. Then, the wife was beaten by her mother in law when her husband had not arrived at home. She got a wound on her hand, but she put bandages on her wound and kept on cooking in the kitchen. While she was cooking, her husband arrived home. After that, the husband asked her, "Why was your hand wounded?" and she said, "I got a little cut on my hand while I was chopping the wood." Later they lived as before again. One day, the husband doubted her wife's responses as she was suffering every day, but she gave the same kind of excuses. So, he wanted to know the true causes, and also started to realize that it might have been done by his mom. Thus, one day, he pretended to leave the house, and he was observing the situation from his neighbour's house. While he was snooping, his mom and family started to maltreat his wife as they thought he was not around at home by beating and spitting the sliver to her as they wished. He had witnessed all the maltreatments. As he has witnessed all the maltreatments, he said to his mom and family, "Hey, mom and everyone, I think the way you treated my beloved wife whom I had married was turpitude. Then, he said to his mom and family, "At some points ladies might make mistakes and blemishes, but actually we must gide them properly instead you are treating her so badly." Since then, the husband bought his wife, and they had lived in the other place.
