Title Baw nu n rawng ai hkanghkyi (The fool lion) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
Once upon a time, there was a lion in a village near a forest. He already ate all the villagers from that village, and there was nothing left for him to eat. When he was somewhere in a forest, he saw a fox. Then he tried to catch that fox to eat. The fox said, "Don't eat me, please. I will find another prey for you." The lion said to the fox, "Okay then. Don't run away! If you run away, I will come to find you and eat you right away." Then the fox went to find the meal for the lion. He saw a deer. He said, "I work for the lion. Come with me! He will give us much food. Let's be friends!" But the deer replied to the fox, "No! I don't believe you." Then the fox said, "It's okay. I am also his friend. You also come to us. Let's be friends!" The deer followed him. The fox took the deer to the lion. He said, "Here! It's yours." The lion killed the deer and ate the flesh. And he said, "I will take a bath first." When the lion went to take a shower, the fox secretly ate the brain of the deer. Soon, the lion came back from the river where he went swimming. And he kept eating the deer. He said to the fox, "There's no brain in this deer. I haven't seen before! You ate it, didn't you?" Then the fox answered, "No, I didn't. I could lie to him easily. He followed me since he didn't have a brain." When the fox said like that, the lion totally believed him. So, the lion was brainless too. This is the end of the story.
