Title Matsan ma du bawng bawng (The poor old man with a lump) with English translation
Description Translation (Tu Hkawng)
Once upon a time, there was a poor man, and he was suffered from goitre. When he attended the ceremony with his goitre, some men said to him, "Your goitre is so enlarged". Because of his goitre, people did not want to allow him to join. They also chased him away because there was no goitre attendee, and they said, "all the attendees do not have goitre". After he was chased away by the people, at night he was warming himself at a fire and sitting, then he is rubbing his goitre, and he was mumbling, "if I do not have a goitre, it would be good, why I have it". While he was mumbling about his goitre, one spirit came and said that "let me take away your goitre". The spirit was holding his goitre and said that, "I will take away your goitre". Then, the spirit took away his goitre. The next morning, a dishonest man said that "hey, poor man who took away your goitre?" The poor man told him that" when I was warming up my body by sitting around a campfire, and I was mumbling about my goitre, then a spirit came and it took away my goitre. After that the dishonest man also did it, then he was warming himself by sitting around campfire at night, he mumbled that, "my goitre is so big who wants to take it away from me". At the time, the old man said, "all the spirits took away my goitre", then the spirit put back the poor man's goitre to dishonest man.
