Title Kasha masum lu ai (The three children and their stepfather) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
The story is about three children. A long time ago, there was a mother in a village. She had three children. She remarried another man after her husband passed away. The stepfather always threatened the three children, "I will beat you! I will kill you!" The stepfather always scolded them. One day, the three children said to the neighbours, "Our stepfather always threatens us like that. He told us that he would kill us. We hate him." The younger brothers told their elder brother, "Our stepfather always scares us that he would kill us. Let's kill him." The children were still young, so they couldn't think about the consequences much. When their stepfather was sleeping on a wooden pillow, the children cut his throat at once. The chiefs were judging the murder case. The chiefs asked the children, "Why did you kill your father?" The children answered, "He didn't like us, so we kill him." Then, the chiefs didn't know how to solve that case. Since the children were only five or six years old, the chiefs couldn't give them any punishments too. The stepfather had to die because of them. So, the father needs to love his children and says sweet words too. He can't always say bad words to his children. This is the end of the story.
