Title Kadai mung kade shara kaw chye nga (The dog, the horse and the thief) with English translation
Description Translation (Seng Pan)
A long time ago, there was a rich couple in a village. They had a horse and a dog. They took the horse to wherever they went. They took care of him and fed him well. However, the dog was only fed leftover food. So, the dog didn't feel well every day. Moreover, the horse always did swanky walk in front of him. But the dog couldn't do anything. One night when the rich couple was sleeping soundly, thieves entered the house to kill them. That time, the dog didn't bark at them since he was treated poorly and he thought even though he made a noise, it would be useless. But the horse saw the thieves. He was so angry at the dog for not barking at them. "How could this dog be so ungrateful? And keep silence!" the horse said. So, he neighed in the middle of the night. Because of his neigh, the husband woke up. And he was angry and said, "How could you make a noise at this time?" He cut down the horse. The horse was killed because he didn't know his place. And he involved in the situation where the dog even didn't take in.

Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of community-based collaborative fieldwork in northern Myanmar. A total of 2,491 stories with 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,369 translations are currently available (March 25, 2024). Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Stories were translated by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
