Title Chyeju malap ai la hte woi (The ungrateful man and monkey) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi San)
Now, I am telling a story about an ungrateful man and an old monkey (gibbon). One day a long time ago, a man went to the jungle. He went to the jungle for hunting, he walked through an old village and fell into an old well. He faced difficulties as he fell into the well the whole night. No one came and rescued him, even though he shouted out loud to save him. An old gibbon passed by and looked into the well. The monkey saw a man troubled inside the well. Therefore, he dropped a creeper to pull that old man up. After that, the old monkey brought the old man to a tree and slept there. While they were sleeping on the tree, a big tiger walked through them. The big tiger persuaded the old man when it was passing them. "Hey friend, can you let me eat the old monkey who is with you? I am so hungry." As the tiger asked him, the old man tried to push the old monkey from the tree. The old gibbon did not fall down as it could hang the branch next to it. But it did not blame the old man. That old monkey told the man, "Hey friend, I even rescued you from the well, but today, you did like this to me. You are such an ungrateful man, so you and I have to depart from here." Then it kicked him down, and the tiger ate the old man.
