Title Hkrit n chye ai shabrang ma (The fearless man) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
Once upon a time, there was a brave boy who was good at archery in a village. And there was a ghoul in a forest near his village. No one dared to go into the forest. People were so scared of the ghoul. He said to the villagers, "Why are you so afraid of the ghoul? I'm not scared. I will kill it by shooting my arrows at him." The villagers said, "Oh, don't go there. It's dangerous." But he said, "No, I will kill it." He went into the forest and found the ghoul. He shot it with his arrows. But the ghoul just avoided his arrows easily. He didn't have any arrows left then. So, he used his legs and kicked it. Then, his legs sticked on it. So, he used his hands and beat it up. But his hands sticked on it as well. Then, he used his head and hit it. But his head was stuck too. At that time, the ghoul said, "Now, I will eat you." The brave boy said, "Then eat me. I have lots of poison on my body. Do you see it? As soon as you eat me, you will die too." The ghoul was frightened after hearing what the boy said. It thought, "He said if I ate him, I would die too. It's okay for me although I don't eat people every day." So, it released the boy. The boy went back to his village then.
