Lani mi na n'htoi gaw Chyakang Mukhkyu wa hpe, lu sat na (King) du ai da. Chyaukang Mukhkyu mung shi a yam yu yang mung, shi mung si na (King) gaw nga sai da. Ndai Hpyi Hpai wa hpe n dang. Hpyi Hpai wa gaw shi hpe dang na (King) gaw lu sai da. Raitim, shi bai (toit) ai gaw, "Ndai ngai gara hku rai yang, nye asak lawt na?.." ngu na shi myit sumru yu yang she, "Ndai hka a kata kaw nga yang gaw lawt na re rai, rai yang gaw, ngai ngai gaw hka kaw rawng nga yang gaw bai n hkam na re rai.. re, re majaw gaw ndai wa hpe gaw nyan ra sai!" ngu na shi gaw tsingdu pa, ga pa mung gawt la, rai yang she, hka majaw mung hpai rai na hpun ntsa e dung yang she lawt na sai ngu ai hku na she, shi gaw le hka kau de sa wa nna she, hka kau na hpun marawng ntsa kaw she lung dung nga. Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of community-based collaborative fieldwork in northern Myanmar. A total of 2,491 stories with 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,369 translations are currently available (March 25, 2024). Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Stories were translated by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
