Title Mung Ki ni hte Lai Lun ni a majan (The war between Mung Ki and Lai Lun) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi Awng)
Our elders used to tell about it. People these days don't know about this anymore. In the past, Lailum tribe and Munggyi tribe were enemies. Munggyi tribesmen got married to women from Shadan tribe. The girls really wanted to get married to men from Munggyi tribe. When they were together, they usually read their fortune. They said, "If I could hit that wood, I will get married to a boy from Munggyi tribe." Then, men from Shadan tribe were angry. So, they declared the war to Munggyi tribe. But unfortunately, they lost in war. There was a big field between Lailum Mountain and Nam Sam Hka (river). Shadan tribe needed to give that field to Munggyi tribe. People these days didn't know about that and farmed there. If someone farmed on the field which he didn't own, he needed to give a ton of rice to the owner for the price of using the field. Then, Lai Lum next generation didn't know about that and farmed there. So, people from Munggyi tribe knew this story and went to take rice grains from them. Then, they quarreled and fought. Some people said, "You shouldn't fight. We think you should ask the elders. There is a nat-priest called Mwijang Yaw. Go and ask him. He might know." In the past, people from Nsen clans and Dara clans lived at Lailum Mountain. Then, men from Shadan tribes and Munggyi tribes went there and asked about it. They answered, "That is the field which Shadan tribes have already given to Munggyi tribes when they lost in war. That's why Munggyi tribesmen ask for rice." After hearing that, Shadan tribesmen didn't say anything and went back to their place.
