It is also just a proverb. People have never excess in learning no matter how much learning. There is the only thing that hasn't been known yet. Learn again and again throughout the rest of life until dotage and wisdom is never ended. Wisdom is the thing that never ends and there is also no excess. There was a man who was university level educated and arrogant so he made a competition. He made the competition with elderly men. What they competed was making an oval basket that used to carry chickens, and the man lost. The university man lost in the competition. Thus, there is no excess in learning. Learning can be until the dotage. Gibbon is - what do you think how the Gibbon looks like? Have you seen it? Before we knew about the Gibbon, we said wrongly that it was the same as the Gibbon's tail. In fact, the Gibbon has no tail. That's why - it said that 'The fact that wisdom has always no excess is the same to the fact that the Gibbon has no tail. The ancestors said that knowing too much is the Gibbon's tail.

Grai dakkasu hpaji chye ai la wa grai rai dum na she lani mi shing jawng poi galaw ai da. Dingla ni hte shing jawng poi galaw, hpa baw shingjawng ai i nga yang u yawm wa shingjawng ai, u yawm wa nchye na dakkasu la wa sum mat ai da. Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of community-based collaborative fieldwork in northern Myanmar. A total of 2,491 stories with 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,369 translations are currently available (March 25, 2024). Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Stories were translated by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
