Title Chyahkyawn hte hkam hkam u (The wolf and the Hkam Hkam bird) with English translation
Description Translation (Seng Pan)
The is about a wolf and Hkam Hkam bird (it's a kind of night bird). Once upon a time, Hkam Hkam bird, the night bird, stole a piece of meat from a house. On his way to the forest, he met with a wolf. As he didn't want to share with the wolf, he ran away. And the wolf chased after him. Since the night bird didn't give him the meat, he flew and sat in a high tree. So, since the wolf wanted to eat his meat, he planned to deceive him with a pleasant voice and said, "Hkam Hkam bird, we can't compare your voice with others. Your voice is amazing." Then the night bird showed him his talent. Actually, his voice was terrible. And his meat was dropped to the ground as he sang. At that time, the wolf picked it up and ate. After that, he said, "You are so dumb. There would be no one stupider than you." And he went back. It's the same as this story that we can get into trouble if we blindly trust what others say.
