Title Yawng hta n-gun ja ai ngu n mai tsun ai lam (Why it is not good to be haughty) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi San)
I am telling a story about how we should not say I am the strongest among all. A long time ago, in a village, a boy said, "I am the strongest among all. There is no one stronger than me." He told this proudly. Therefore, his mother brought him to the other villages and showed him there were many people stronger than him. On the way, they met a man who made barrages for his living. They found that the man hit his head on a piton. The boy said when he saw it, "Aww, there is a person who is stronger than me. I told a wrong thing before." He accepted the situation. After passing the man who made barrages, they met a young man who pulled out a giant tree from its root and carried it without cutting it from the top to the bottom. The boy realized, "Aww, this man is the strongest. Therefore, we should not be so proud of ourselves. We should not say, no one is better or stronger than me." The boy learned lessons from that day onwards.

Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of a community-based collaborative fieldwork project in northern Myanmar. As of March 19, 2025, a total of 2,491 stories are available, accompanied by 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,584 translations.

Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Translations were prepared by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
