Title Kanu kawa a tsaw ra myit (The parent's love) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi San)
I am telling a story about without a parent's love. The son and daughter did not love their parents. The wife loved her husband, but she did not like her father-in-law. The wife said, "You carry your father away. If you do not throw him away, I will not marry you." The husband weaved a basket. His father asked the husband, "My son, why do you weave this basket that is so big?" After weaving the basket, the son said, "My father, you go in here." So, the father fitted himself into the basket. The son carried it and left it where there was no one. The son listened to his wife, and he lost his love for his father so he could do such a thing. He told his father, "My father, you stay here." The son threw his father away. Then he went home. When the son left the father, the father thought, "Whatever it takes, my son has his wife." The father said, "My son. Come back here. I will tell you a story." Therefore, the son came back to his father, and the father said, "My son, bring this basket back." "This basket could be the one for you to carry. You have your wife, so you could also have a child. This basket could be for you; therefore, bring it back. You carried me with it, so you might also be carried in it." The son repented. The son said, "Oh! That could be." He brought back his father in the basket. When he got home, he told his wife, "I cannot be apart from my father. I brought him back so you can leave me if you don't like him." In the end, the son listened to his wife first, but he listened to what his father said and brought his father back.
