Title U ri shan hte ndang da lim (Pheasant meat and Indian trumpet pods) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi Awng)
The story which I am going to tell is about Indian trumpet and a pheasant. Long time ago in Danai, there were two soldiers who lived near the river. They knew that they shouldn't do Indian trumpet tree trunk as a cutting board and chop a pheasant on that. But they were drunk. So, they dared to do that. Both of them dared to do that since they were drunk. They cut the pheasant meat on the cutting board which was made by Indian trumpet trunk without thinking much. But one of them didn't dare to eat the meat. He said, "I don't dare to eat." Then his friend said, "I will eat then." And he ate the curry. After about three and five hours, the man who ate the meat of the pheasant by cutting on the Indian trumpet cutting board said, "I feel hot. Very hot!" And the scales appeared on his body. He was screaming and shouting because he couldn't bear the feeling hot. Then, the one who didn't eat the meat took him to Danai river. When they reached the river, the man turned into a dragon. The dragon scales were on his whole body. Except his hand on which he wore the copper ring couldn't turned into a dragon. He couldn't change into a dragon completely. It stopped right there. His whole body had already changed into a dragon, but his hand left to be a dragon. He said to his friend, "I can't stand anymore. I feel really hot. Put this ring off from my hand, please. Give this ring to my family." His friend took the ring off from his hand. After he had taken off his ring, he completely transformed into a dragon. Nowadays, some people wear copper bracelets and copper rings not to dream the nightmares. Some people don't believe that people who ate pheasant meat cut on the cutting board which was made by Indian trumpet trunk could turned into a dragon. We should care about that kind of thing even now. I am just sharing the true story that really happened in the past. We shouldn't do that. A pheasant meat shouldn't be cut on the cutting board which is made by Indian trumpet trunk. This event really happened in Danai. I just want to warn everyone that we should never try this.
