Title Danai na baren (The dragon of Danai) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
Now, I'm going to tell you about a dragon took a man named La Lung in the Danai River. When he crossed the Danai River by boat, the dragon took him. The villagers were upset. So they escorted the deity of thunder and offered a white buffalo as an offering. Soon, at the plain named Nsen Hka which is near the Danai River confluence, the dragon was hit by thunder. In the past, Nat spirits were powerful. We should give offerings to Nats. In the past, we used to give offerings to nats. This incident had truly happened in the past. People who witnessed it told me. And I am passing it on to you as knowledge. I just want to tell you, "We should know anything. We should gain knowledge by learning about past events."

Dai La Lung ngu ai wa gaw dai dai Danai hka kaw nhtoi npraw ngu ai hka daru kaw lai wa ai shaloi baren e ndai kaw li hte rai wa ai kaw dai kaw na hkap la e dai kaw hkap dun la kau nna dai kaw na ni gaw grai myit npyaw nna e nga wuhpraw langai mi e dai e shi mu e jaw nna mu shaga nna dai hku na nat jaw rai yang kade nna ai ten hta Nsen hka ngu ai hkaraw kaw dai Danai hka zup kaw na ndai lam de na Nsen hka layang ngu ai kaw dai kaw e mu achye na wa garawt tawn ai dai dan re lam ni nga ai. Dai re majaw e nat nga timung moi prat gaw grai hkungga la ra nna grau nna nat hpe e jaw jau ma ai. Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of a community-based collaborative fieldwork project in northern Myanmar. As of March 19, 2025, a total of 2,491 stories are available, accompanied by 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,584 translations.

Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Translations were prepared by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
