Title Magrau grang ai num kasha (The brave girl) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
The story is about a brave girl. Once upon a time, there were three sisters: Ma Kaw, Ma Lu and Ma Roi. They were talking about something inside their house. They were talking. Ma Kaw said first, "I want to get married to the baker in the king's royal compound." Ma Kaw said what she wanted to do. Ma Lu said, "I want to get married to the chef who cooks for the king." Ma Roi said, "I don't want to get married to the baker or the chef. I want to get married to the king." When she said that she would like to get married to the king, The king came to that house. Actually, the king and his followers toured the country. They took a rest at the three sisters' house. They took a rest there. Soon, they went back to the royal palace. The next morning, the king ordered his chef and baker, "When we toured the country yesterday, we met three girls at the house where we took a rest. Tell them that I would like to talk with them. Escort them to the palace." The king ordered them to escort the three sisters. The sisters rode horses and set forth to the palace. The chef, the baker and the servants took the sisters to the palace by horses. They told the sisters that the king would like to meet them. When they arrived at the palace, the king told Ma Kaw, "Ma Kaw, you wear the clothes beside the baker." And the king told Ma Lu, "Ma Lu, you wear the clothes beside the chef." And he told Ma Roi, "Ma Roi, you wear the clothes beside me." And they celebrated weddings in the palace. The three couples got married and lived there. Later, Ma Roi got pregnant. She got pregnant. Ma Kaw and Ma Lu were mean. They said, "We are not as smart as Ma Roi, so we are just the wives of the king's chef and baker. Ma Roi becomes the king's wife! We are so stupid." When Ma Roi was giving birth, they pretended to be midwives. They helped her throughout the birth. Ma Roi gave birth to a boy. She gave birth to a boy. Ma Kaw and Ma Lu wrapped the baby in fabric and put him in a box. There was a stream behind the royal palace. They put the baby in the box and flew it. They flew the box with the baby in it into the stream. The box landed at the place where a gardener couple lived. The old couple were curious about what was inside the box. They took the box out of the water. They saw the baby inside it. They decided to raise the baby. They raised the baby boy. Meanwhile, Ma Kaw and Ma Lu told the king, "My king, your wife gave birth to a dog! It's a dog!" And they showed the wrapped dog to the king. They told him, "It is a dog!" The king got really angry. The king angrily said, "How could a human give birth to a dog!?" But he still took Ma Roi as his wife. Later, Ma Roi gave birth again. She gave birth to a boy again. Ma Kaw and Ma Lu helped her in labour. They wrapped the baby in fabric, put him in a box and flew it along the stream again. The gardener couple saved the baby and raised him too. They raised him too. On the other hand, Ma Kaw and Ma Lu told the king, "Your wife gave birth to a cat!" They wrapped the cat in the fabric and showed it to the king. The king got really angry. He held back his anger. Later, Ma Roi gave birth a third time. This time, she gave birth to a girl. She gave birth to a girl. Ma Kaw and Ma Lu helped her in labour this time too. They wrapped the baby girl and flew her along the stream. They flew her along the stream. The old gardener couple saved the girl and raised her too. The couple raised the king's children: Ma Gam, Ma Naw and Ma Kaw. The old couple raised them well. They lived very happily. On the other hand, Ma Kaw and Ma Lu told the king, "My king, your wife gave birth to a pig!" The king was really angry. He got really angry with his wife. He let her stay in a small house where she couldn't move at all. He let her stay there. He told her, "What kind of woman are you who gives birth to only animals!?" He punished her and let her stay in a small house. Ma Roi had to stay there. The king's children, whom the couple raised, grew up well. They grew up well. The old couple decorated the house very beautifully. They made it beautiful. They made it very beautiful. One day, the king went hunting in the forest. He went hunting. While he was hunting, he met his children. He met his children. The king told them, "Your house is really beautiful, but you still need three things to make it more beautiful. First, you need a parrot that can speak. And you need water and a heap of stones in front of the house. When you water the stones, it will be like a fountain. The water flows from above to below. You will need those things to decorate your house." The king told them about it. After the king said that, the three children: Ma Gam, Ma Naw and Ma Kaw kept it in mind. They kept it in mind. The king also told them, "You have to go to the place where only brave people can go. There are many evils. You need to go there to get all those things. There is medicinal water too. If you are scared by those evils, you will turn into a rock. But you can turn into a human when you touch that medicinal water." The king told them about it. And he went back to his palace. He went to his palace. Then, Ma Gam, Ma Naw and Ma Kaw were discussing how to do it. Ma Gam said, "I will go to the place where the man directed us. I will go there first." He told his sister. She said, "Don't go there, my brother. There are many evils that will scare you. If you are scared and look back, you will turn into a salt rock. So you mustn't look back. You should walk straight without looking back." Ma Gam said, "I will go there." His brother and sister said, "Don't go there." Ma Gam said, "I will go there." He gave a knife to his sister. He gave his sister a knife. That knife was straight. He told her, "If I turn into a rock, this knife will automatically be out of its scabbard by itself." He gave it to his sister and went there. He took a bag and went there by horse. He met an old man on his way. The old man had a long beard, long eyebrows and long hair. He was sitting. Ma Gam told the old man, "Grandpa, I want to go there. I am here to take the talking parrot, water and the thing that can make dead people bring their lives back." The man told him, "Okay. Take this way to get there. You will hear many noises when you go there. They will try to scare you, but you shouldn't be scared. If you retrace your steps with a frightened mind, you will turn into a salt rock." Ma Gam said, "Alright." And he set forth. He went there. As soon as he arrived there, he heard different scary sounds. On the midway, Ma Gam was really frightened. He thought, "It's not right. I should go back." Then he turned back. He really turned into a salt rock. His sister was always checking the knife to see if there was any signal. While she was checking it, it was out of its scabbard. It meant her brother had turned into a rock. She said, "Oh, my brother might turn into the rock. He doesn't come back." Ma Naw said, "I will go there anyway. Our brother turned into the rock, but I will take him out of that place." The sister stopped Ma Naw from going there, but Ma Naw decided to go there. Ma Naw gave a necklace to his sister. He gave her a necklace. And he said, "Wear this necklace. If I turn into the salt rock, this necklace will automatically be broken." Then, he set forth on his journey. When he went there, he also met the old man that his brother met. He met the man with the long beard. The old man asked him, "Where are you going?" He answered, "My brother went there. I am coming for him since he doesn't come back." He answered the man's question. The old man said, "Okay. You mustn't look back at whatever you hear. If you look back, you will definitely turn into the rock." Ma Naw said, "I understand." And he went there. When he stepped inside, he heard many frightening sounds. He felt really scared soon after he walked in. Then he decided to retrace his steps. As soon as he looked back, he turned into the rock. He turned into the salt rock. Then the necklace his sister was wearing would break by itself. The youngest sister thought, "My two brothers have turned into rocks. I should go there." They loved each other so much. Then she went there to save them. She carried a bag and went there. She met the old man whom her brothers had met. She told him, "Grandpa, I am coming here because my two brothers don't come back. And I want to take the talking parrot and water with beautiful colours." She told him why she had come. She told the man why she came. The old man said, "When you go inside there, don't look back." The girl went inside. She stepped inside. (Oh, sorry.) Before she walked in it, she took something out of her bag. It was cotton. She took it out and put it inside her ears in order to not hear any sounds. And she walked inside it. She didn't hear any sounds because of it. She could walk inside it without any disturbance. She could reach inside it. There was really a talking parrot inside it. There was the parrot. She took it and carried some water. When the water was poured on the stones, the beautiful colours came out. She carried some water in her bottle. She carried the salt water too. Before she walked inside it, she asked the old man, "My two brothers have turned into rocks. I want to save them." The old man said, He told her, "If you want your brothers to be alive, there is salt water inside it. Pour that water on them. Then your brothers will turn into humans again. They will be alive." She kept the words in her mind and carried the salt water. She took the beautiful water too. She also took the talking parrot and retraced her steps. And she poured the salt water on her brothers. After she poured the salt water on her second brother, he turned into a human. And they both went to their eldest brother. When they poured the salt water on him, he turned into a human too. Then three of them went back to their home together. They arrived home. They kept the talking parrot in their house. And they arranged the stones and put the water with beautiful colours in front of their house. The water was so beautiful. The water was like a fountain. It was going up and down beautifully. The water was flowing beautifully. Meanwhile, the king went hunting. While he was hunting, Ma Gam and Ma Naw went hunting too. They met the king somewhere in the middle of a hunt. In fact, they met their father. (But they didn't know that the king was their father.) They took the king to their house. They took him home. The talking parrot had magical powers. How to say that word in Burmese. The parrot had magical power. The parrot told the king, "My king, turn the sand into a snack and eat it.'' The parrot told the king that. The king was really shocked. He thought, "How could this parrot tell me to eat the sand?" He was really surprised. The king asked it. The king asked it, "Why did you say that to me?" The parrot said, "As you can't eat the sand, you can't say that Ma Gam, Ma Naw and Ma Kaw aren't your children. They are your children." The king was really happy to hear that. He was happy and went back to his palace. He investigated the case when his children were born. He really had three babies: Ma Gam, Ma Naw and Ma Kaw. He called his two sister-in-laws and asked them, "Did your sister, Ma Roi, really give birth to animals?" They told the truth to the king. They said, "We were jealous of her, so we floated the babies along the stream." They explained everything to the king. The king was really happy. He ordered the servants to take out his wife, Ma Roi, who was arrested. Ma Roi was prepared beautifully. Servants bathed her and dressed her. The king called all his children. Both of them left the palace and lived together with their children in the house where the children's adopted parents lived. All of them lived there together. All of them lived there happily together.
