Title Anya ai ma kasha (The fool boy) with English translation
Description Translation (Htoi Awng)
Long time ago, there was a weak and stupid boy in a village. He went to school with his friends, but he was not good at school lessons. He forgot everything no matter how hard he tried to remember the lessons. He was depressed. One day, while he was standing to do his lesson, he saw a snail climbing the plant from the stem slowly. He kept looking at it. He looked at the snail slowly climbing the plant for 2 or 3 hours. Then, he noticed that the snail had reached at the top by climbing slowly. He thought, "Even that slow snail can reach to the top. I will act like this snail and study hard." Finally, he was graduated. This story is for children. Thank you so much.

Moi grai anya ai ma kasha langai mi nga ai da. Shi gaw manang ni hte jawng rau sa tim shi gaw laika ma nlu (chyet) ai da. Gara hku (chyet) tim ya (chyet) yang ya bai malap kau re nna she shi gaw lani mi gaw myit htum nna oh ran re nhpan hkan ne laika hpai nna tsap hkawm yang she oh ra (kayu) ah hkoi le i ah hkoi dai wa she le ah pawt kaw na gau ngwi sha rai yu hkrai yu shi hkrai mau dung yu hkrai yu laika nlu (chyet) na ma dai hkoi hpe shi yu taw nga ai da. Yu hkrai yu na naryi hkum 2, 3 yu taw nga shaloi gaw dai hkoi wa ning rai kachyi chyi sha rai lung wa ai hpe shi yu taw nga, a jang shade lanyan ai wa she hto ndung kaw e wa du mat ai hpe dai ma gaw mu ai da. Collection title Kachin folktales told in Jinghpaw
Description Recordings of Kachin folktales and related narratives in Jinghpaw. These materials were collected by Keita Kurabe, Gumtung Lu Awng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, Labang Tu La, Gumtung Htu Nan, and Lashi Seng Nan as part of community-based collaborative fieldwork in northern Myanmar. A total of 2,491 stories with 2,481 ELAN files, 2,481 transcriptions, and 1,369 translations are currently available (March 25, 2024). Transcriptions were contributed by Gumtung Lu Awng, Pausa La Ring, Galang Lu Hkawng, Sumdu Ja Seng Roi, Hpauhkum Htu Bu, and Keita Kurabe. Stories were translated by Nbanpa Rita Seng Mai, Sumlut Gun Mai, Lazing Htoi San, Maran Seng Pan, Dumdaw Mike Tu Awng, Nhkum Htoi Awng, and Keita Kurabe.
