Title Tsawm Shingni Hte Shabrang Masum (The Beauty and the Three Young Men) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
The title of the story is "A beautiful lady and three men." Once upon a time, there were three close friends in a village. The three men fell in love with one lady. They loved her so much. One man had got a fan made of gold. Another one had a long rod like a telescope. He used that telescope to look at the things from far away. The last one had the ability to make the long journey to be short. It will be like a car nowadays. They three had each own ability. Then they went somewhere to make much money. While they were working there, they missed that beautiful girl whom they were in love with. So, the man who had a telescope looked at that girl. He saw that the girl was seriously ill. Then, another man who could make the long way to be short used his ability to go back to the girl. But unfortunately, they couldn't reach on time. The girl was dead. Then the man who had a golden fan waved his fan in front of the dead body of the girl. Surprisingly, the girl was brought back to life. Then they three wanted to marry her. The man who had a telescope said, "I am the one who should marry her. If I didn't tell you that she was ill, we would not arrive here on time. We will see only her grave, and she will be soil. That's why I deserve her." Then the man who could make the long way to be short said, "No! I am the one who should marry her. You could see her dead body because of me. Or not, you couldn't save her life." The man who had a golden fan also said, "Okay. You two said like that. But she would be dead if I didn't wave my fan. Isn't it? If she was dead, who would marry her? That's why she is mine." They three were arguing. Then they went to the elders to decide for them. The elders said, "Yes. You could know that the girl was ill because of the man who has a telescope. You three reached there on time because of the man who has the ability to make the long journey to be short. But if the girl is dead, no one wants to marry to the dead body. The man who has a golden fan could bring back the girl's life. So, he deserves the girl." The elders made a decision for them. The other two men also agreed that. Then, the man with a golden fan and the girl got married. This is the end of the story.
