Title Masha hte nat ga shaga (The man who lied to Hpu Lum Htu) with English translation
Description Translation (Rita Seng Mai)
In the past, people and other living things could communicate with each other. The trees and plants could understand people's language too. One day, a man went somewhere to do his business. On his way back home, he met a nat spirit and talked with it. The man lied to that nat spirit when they were talking about something. The nat spirit was Hpau Lum Htu. Hpau Lum Htu talked with people. When people lied to it, it got really angry. Hpau Lum Htu is a kind of nat which has long hair. It has long breasts. When people lied to it, it got angry and chased that person. It could run really fast up the hill. It let its breasts down and ran quickly. Then, the man ran up the hill and climbed the tree. Then, Hpau Lum Htu couldn't kill him anymore. The next day, he and Hpau Lum Htu met somewhere in the forest again. Hpau Lum Htu was still angry at him. The man was smart too. He ran down the hill. Since Hpau Lum Htu had long breasts, it couldn't run down the hill quickly as it wished. Since then, people and nats don't speak to each other and are separated.
